「第三回中国研究国際サーマースクール」(南京大学、ハーバード大学燕京研究所、シドニー大学共催)

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to tell you about a joint-training program that
Harvard-Yenching Institute will be sponsoring jointly with Nanjing University and
the University of Sydney this summer in Nanjing. The subject is social science approaches to daily life after 1978. The deadline for applications is March 31. The training session will be conducted in a combination of English and Chinese, and applications are invited from advanced graduate students, post-docs, and junior faculty. I have attached two pdfs with information on the program, one in English and one in Chinese. The program will be run in a combination of the two languages, so those who would like to apply should be able to use both languages.

This is a very good opportunity to meet outstanding graduate student and junior faculty from all over the world. Those who do very well will also be eligible to apply for special grants, including a one year fellowship for Harvard Yenching Institute or a 3-6 month grant from the University of Sydney.

I would appreciate it if you would see that this announcement is distributed to any younger scholars who you think might be interested.
If they have any questions about the application procedures, please ask them to contact me.

I was very happy to see two applicants from Japan who joined the last joint training program on archives for post-1950s China which was held at Fudan in January, and hope that we will have many more applicants from Japan attending these joint programs.

Many thanks for your help,

Linda Grove
